Place it against your face and roll the bar inwards and outwards with your thumbs. The spring will catch the hairs and gently pull them out. Yes it did hurt at first but after a few times you dont notice the pain, it like when you first wax or use tweezers but after using regularly you dont notice realise and you get used to it.
