| 72 of 73 people found the following review helpful  Great product for Shellac Nail Varnish, This review is from: Proxima Direct� 36W UV Lamp Light Gel Curing Nail Dryer + 4 x 9W Bulbs I've had my nails done professionally a number of times - at between �10 - �15 a time, I figured it would make sense to get my own kit. I was not sure the Proxima 36W UV lamp would work, but after reading the reviews, I figured it would. And it did.I have to admit to having minor panic when the first coat would not dry. I had my hand under the light for more than two minutes but no joy. So I grabbed my computer and reread the reviews. It then dawned on me that I never checked my nails while they are being done for me, and I did not know that they stayed tacky between each application! This was a bit of a revelation - I can only assume that it is part of the chemical process, so I proceeded: base coat, two layers of colour, top coat (with light treatment between each layer). After the final coat and light treatment, I (very nervously, I admit) removed the final sticky layer with cottonwool soaked with ISOPROPANOL IPA Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9%; the result was... I read so many reviews before finally purchasing it as I was unsure I would get the correct results if I didn't purchase the recommended Shellac lamp. It does work fine - the finish on the lamp isn't great (blurred writing on the top) but this is fine as it is only for personal use. After my first attempt at applying Shellac I was disappointed with the end results as I had been left with sticky residue on each nail. I did attempt to wipe it off with a solution but this was not strong enough so I then used acetone and it cleaned each nail perfectly leaving the fantastic shine that I was hoping for.I have purchased 2 nail colours so far but now I am confident I am getting great results I will expand my collection.
